FAQ

What is an energy painting? What type of energy do you paint?

An energy painting is an artwork infused with the good intentions and energy transmuted by the artist.

What I paint: Love. Light. Healing. Comfort. Reassurance. Messages from above. Anything that you need on your self-growth and healing journey. I want my energy paintings to uplift and encourage you to keep going forward and stay strong on your path to a higher self.

Will the painting be ready to hang?

Most likely! It is often mentioned in the description of the painting if it is ready to hang, as many of my paintigns already have a wire in the back from having been in an exhibition.

If a painting is not ready to hang and you can't find information about it, you can message me, OR simply leave a note for me in the Message-box at checkout, if you'd like me to add a wire, so it's ready to hang once you receive Your Painting!

How do you work? What is your inspiration?

I find huge inspiration mainly in emotions, healing, and the way I sense energy, and the act of processing them through my art. Sometimes I focus on a theme that is important to me and at other times an art piece forms simply due to a need to express or process a feeling or situation. More than before I sense a calling to create and thus act on that as soon as possible. I also like to meditate or center myself before starting to paint, and let whatever comes through unfold onto the canvas. Over the years I've learned to trust more and more in the guidance from above, as I'm very passionate about the spiritual world and the layers of life we can't see with our eyes, only sense and connect to on a different vibrational level.

Colours are very healing and different situations and feelings call for particular colour combinations. Spirituality and emotional healing are very important in my art and my main goal is not only to process my own feelings but that every piece finds the person who it was made for; a person who the art speaks to and resonates with. I believe art can be a great source of comfort and strength, and I wish to create such art for anyone who needs it.

What about a Certificate of Authenticity?

At the moment, I do not add a Certificate of Authenticity automatically to my orders. But you are more than welcome to request one! You can message me on social media or e-mail, OR simply add a note for me in the Message-box at Checkout, stating that you'd like a Certificate! I'll have one made and add it to your package with the art.

If you have previously bought a painting from me, and would like to have a Certificate of Authenticity, please message me on social media or send me an e-mail, and I'll send one to you!*

*shipping fees might apply.

Is the painting framed?

Frames are not included with the sale unless specifically noted. Any pictures with frames and interior design around it are for the customer to be able to better imagine the painting in their home. If you want frames for your purchased painting you can buy a custom frame from a shop specialized in frames or go to your local IKEA. Most of my art on paper are either A4 och A3 which are standard sizes and the right sized frames should be available in many stores. For an odd sized paper painting you can get a passepartout to better fit the art piece into a standard sized frame.

Larger artwork might need to be shipped in a roll, in which case the canvas painting will be detached from the stretcher bars and sent without the bars.

If a large painting was unstretched and shipped rolled up in a tube you can easily get it re-stretched at a specialized art store. Large paintings can also be framed, if you prefer, once you receive it. This can be done at a local framing store, at the same time as you get it re-stretched.

How do I Purchase?

Every painting available on my website can be purchased directly through it when the Shop is open. Please either click the "add to cart" button and check out yourself or email me at saaratani.art[at]gmail.com to request more information or express interest in purchasing. When the Shop is not opened, paintings can be purchased by contacting me directly through any Social Media Platform.

Purchasing process via Social Media is simple: tell me the painting(s) you want to purchase, give me your full name, adress and phone number (+e-mail if you have), and which method of payment you prefer of the options I have available (bank transfer, cash/in person, mobilepay, paypal, invoice etc or ask for more options). Also tell me if you want to pick up a painting in person or to negotiate a pick up place in Finland, Helsinki-Itä-Uusimaa. I will add the shipping price (unless free shipping applies) and give you payment instructions. After payment has been made, I will pack and ship your painting! You can always contact me in English, Finnish or Swedish. You can also subscribe to my newsletter to get first hand information on any updates.

You can find more information about the Shipping process here.

Larger paintings might be insured during shipping if needed. Carrying insurance on the painting after it arrives in your possession is your responsibility.

Where do you sign your paintings? Can I make a request for that?

I sign most of my paintings in the front, either left or right lower corner, depending on where the signature fits best. I also sign the back with my full signature, as I sometimes only sign with my last name in the front (with a smaller signature), if I feel like it looks better and doesn't distract the composition of the painting. The back will also have all of the other relevant information such as title of the painting, year (sometimes date or month) that the painting was finished, size and material used.

If I have signed the painting in a certan spot and you as a Customer want to hang the painting in another way, for example upside down, or on the side, then if possible, I can try to paint over the signature and sign it in a place that works for you better! Please, message me before you purchase, or leave a note for me in the message-box before purchasing.

How do I care for my painting?

Even a painting needs some love and care over time, so to dust your painting you can use a lint-free cloth or a dry soft hair paintbrush and run it back and forth from the top to the bottom allowing all the dust to fall off. Never use anything liquid to clean it with.

You should also never put a painting in full sun or in a dark damp place. This will cause damage and too much sun will bleach out the colors over time. If the painting is stored in a dark humid place it can darken the painting which can cause mold damage and warping.

If you need to store a painting, never place it laying down or with anything on top of it, as it can damage or warp the canvas. It's better to store the painting standing with enough padding such as bubble wrap or an old sheet to protect it.

Feeling inspired?

Are you interested in painting as a hobby? Are you just getting started? Here are some tools that I recommend if you want to pick up acrylic painting as a new hobby!

I have an Amazon-list of my most used supplies HERE! *

My favorite paints for beginners are the Amsterdam Standard Series. They're affordable and of decent quality. It's a good idea to start with a set of small paint tubes, this way you can try out many colors, play around with them and decide which ones you use the most. For started kits I recommend one of these:

- Amsterdam Acrylic 120 ml Set / 5 Primary
- Amsterdam Acrylic Standard Series Paint Set 12x20milliliter
- Royal Talens Amsterdam Acrylic Standard Tubes, 20ml-Tubes, Set of 24

For something to paint on, paper is fine. Though, it's good to choose a thicker paper. It's important to note though that paint works differently on paper than it does on a canvas, so if you can, practice on both. Here are some examples:

- Canson XL Series Oil and Acrylic Paper, Foldover Pad, 9x12 inches, 24 Sheets (136lb/290g)

- Strathmore 300 Series Canvas Paper Pad, Glue Bound, 12x16 inches, 10 Sheets (115lb/187g)

- GOTIDEAL Stretched Canvas, Multi Pack 4x4", 5x7", 8x10",9x12", 11x14" Set of 10, Primed White - 100% Cotton

Brushes can be hard to choose from, particularly as the type of brush you will need depends largely on what you paint, the style, as well as your technique. It's safe to say you will find out after trial and error. As a beginner I recommend getting a small set of different types to try out. A cheaper set is fine, invest in quality later.

- Benicci Professional Artist Paint Brush Set of 12 - Painting Brushes

Other than that, you don't really need to buy anything. For a palette, a piece of paper or a paper plate works fine. Same goes for the water, just use an old cup or a paper mug. You might also need a rag or paper towels. That's it. Experiment with materials for different textures, such as sponges or a plastic knife. The most important thing is to just get familiar with the colors and have fun!

I might add more to this list later if I find something interesting or useful!
